The project includes the redevelopment of Square Élisa-Mercœur at the foot of the Château des Ducs de Bretagne, featuring the creation of a mirror pool and a playground. It is part of a broader urban program to design a promenade connecting the train station to the Loire River, while revitalizing the public spaces of the city center.

Designed by landscape architect Bruno Fortier, the project establishes a dialogue between the Château des Ducs de Bretagne and a new urban park, which has become a major space in the heart of the city.

The mirror pool echoes the historical presence of the Loire River and a former wading pool. With its 2,000 granite slabs covered by a thin 2 cm layer of water, the « miroir d’eau » becomes a reflective and ephemeral surface, where water appears and disappears in an orchestrated choreography. This rhythmic staging transforms the space into a poetic scene, where light, reflections, and the movement of water captivate visitors.
