For the ConfEx Park project, the water management strategy for fountains and irrigation follows a hybrid model. It relies on collecting rainwater from impervious surfaces — such as roadways and the roofs of new buildings — for reuse in irrigation and to supply the vegetated water features using untreated water. In addition, a series of dry swales functions as retention devices, helping mitigate the impact of intense rainfall events. Finally, any excess water is directed to an underground collection and retention system, which also contributes to the site’s overall water supply.
