Located just off the Corso Vittorio Emanuele – one of the most popular pedestrian streets in Milan – visitors are drawn towards the piazza by the sight of the dramatic new fountain.
The architectural project, designed by Foster + Partners, revolves around the concept of transparency. Glass and water intertwine to create an immersive and unique experience.

Here, water becomes a living artwork: it flows as a continuous veil over the glass walls, creating a dynamic surface that captures and reflects light. Its movement, both fluid and precise, evokes an urban waterfall, where each droplet traces ephemeral paths. The carefully studied flow generates a play of changing textures—sometimes a liquid mirror, sometimes a light mist—while the gentle murmur of the water adds a soothing auditory dimension. This aquatic choreography, both subtle and captivating, enhances the sense of lightness and modernity of the space, inviting visitors to a contemplative pause in the heart of the city.
