The Interface des Eaux-Vives project, led by MSV Paysage Agency, is part of the urban design and landscape development of a new multifunctional district in Geneva. This district, which combines activities, cultural facilities, housing, and transportation, has become a dynamic and connected living space. At the heart of this ensemble, water plays a central role, bringing freshness, movement, and poetry to the public space. In front of the Nouvelle Comédie Theatre, a long fountain integrates seamlessly into the garden, marking the presence of water as a guiding thread throughout the project. It creates a soothing and lively atmosphere, inviting passersby to contemplate or relax. The overflow basin, made of metal, is a remarkable hydraulic work of art. Its design and installation required extreme precision to ensure a uniform overflow along its entire length. From time to time, mist appears and rises. Aristotle, in Meteorology, explains that water is drawn upward by a natural fear of the void. This ephemeral moment adds a touch of freshness and mystery.
