The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, an initiative by Aramco, is far more than a cultural center: it is an architectural and symbolic masterpiece designed by Snøhetta, embodying the history and aspirations of Saudi Arabia. The architectural concept is captivating, like a mirage rising from the desert—the building resembles an assembly of pebbles, symbolizing both a delicate balance and the strength of interdependence.
At the heart of the project, water is ever-present. You can feel its coolness and hear the gentle sound of its flow. In this arid setting, it inspires wonder and helps to cool the gardens, creating an oasis of serenity. But beyond its functional role, water evokes an affective and deeply personal dimension: every visitor connects with it in their own way. It stirs the imagination, awakens the senses, and triggers sensory and emotional engagement, crafting a unique and delightful experience for each individual.
